  The Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) is a proven topology in HVDC, but it is also a suitable solution for medium voltage applications such as wind turbines. To increase the modularity and the scalability of this topology for medium voltage applications, a real-time communication bus between the submodules and the central control unit is implemented as an efficient way of control. This real-time communication is realized using EtherCAT communication. To verify the advantages of this control strategy a 3-kV 350-kVA demonstrator of a medium voltage MMC topology with EtherCAT communication is constructed and set up. The description and the analysis of this demonstrator with focus on the EtherCAT communication are presented in this paper. The communication path, the synchronization and the control including the modulation method are discussed, investigated and validated within this paper.

  Das Herausgeberwerk vermittelt theoretisch fundiert die Entrepreneurship Education aus pädagogisch-didaktischer Sicht und bettet sie in den Kontext ökonomischer Bildung ein. Thematisiert werden Begriffsverständnisse und Definitionen einer Entrepreneurship Education, ihre disziplinäre und theoretische Einordnung ebenso wie ihre didaktische Fundierung und thematische Ausdifferenzierung. Die Herausgeberinnen Teita Bijedić ist Senior Researcher am Institut für Mittelstandsforschung und an verschiedenen Universitäten in der Lehrerbildung aktiv. Sie ist Mitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ökonomische Bildung. Ilona Ebbers ist Professorin für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Didaktik an der Europa-Universität Flensburg. Sie ist Mitglied im Dr. Werner-Jackstädt Zentrum für Unternehmertum und Mittelstand und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ökonomische Bildung. Brigitte Halbfas ist Professorin an der Universität Kassel. Sie leitet das Fachgebiet Entrepreneurship Education und steht dem fachbereichsübergreifenden Forschungs- und Lehrzentrum für unternehmerisches Denken und Handeln an der Universität Kassel als leitende Direktorin vor. Sie ist Mitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ökonomische Bildung

  Gameplay experience is shaped by players expectations towards the game and how game features are presented to them. We created two modified versions of the classic TETRIS game: one that adapts game difficulty based on players performance and one that additionally adapts to players eye movements. An initial analysis of exploratory study results indicates that eye-movement-based adaptive difficulty in TETRIS might not affect player performance and that framing the use of adaptive difficulty might only have a limited influence on both players game experience and perceived competence.

  The resolution of current head-mounted displays leads to poor readability of text inrealistic virtual reality (VR) simulations. This results in unnatural user behavior. Here, three approaches for improving the readability of text in VR have been investigated:1) constantly magnifying a part of the screen (version "lens"), 2) magnifying sceneelements such as signs depending on the gaze direction (version "magnify") and3) augmenting the scene by adding floating texts (version "AR"). These approaches havebeen implemented as prototypes and tested by twelve users, using a virtual supermarketas an exemplary VR scene. The participants filled out a questionnaire, rating theirexperience with the different approaches. Additionally, the time required for readinggiven texts (price tags) has been measured and compared for each approach. With theAR version, the reading time was significantly shorter than the reading time without anyaids. The other versions offered no advantages. The AR version was also rated best in thequalitative evaluation. However, the other versions offer potential for improvement, which can be addressed in future research.
