Studium der Elektrotechnik mit der Vertiefungsrichtung Elektrische Energietechnik an der Technischen Universität Braunschweig. Anschließend Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am dortigen Institut für Elektrische Maschinen, Antriebe und Bahnen. 2008 Promotion auf dem Gebiet der Resonanzwechselrichter. Ab 2007 Industrietätigkeit, zunächst als Entwicklungsingenieur für Mittelspannungsstromrichter in Berlin, später als Leiter der Hardwareentwicklung in einem Flensburger Unternehmen, das Umrichter für die Netzeinspeisung regenerativer Energien produziert. Seit März 2014 Professor an der Hochschule Flensburg.
