Symbolic Flexible Multibody Models for Wind Turbine - Controller Design and Analysis
Topic/Thema
The next generation of wind turbine digital technologies requires versatile aero-servo-hydro-elastic models of various levels of fidelity, and suitable for a wide range of applications. Currently, such models are usually one-off developments for a specific purpose. Addressing these issues, in this talk a framework for the automatic derivation, processing and parametrization of models with a varying degree of detail is presented. The approach is based on Kane’s method and a standarized, nonlinear modal representation of flexible bodies (tower and blades).
Speaker/Referent:in:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Geisler, Hochschule Flensburg
Jens Geisler studied mechanical engineering and mechatronics in Osnabrück. After that he was a scientific assistant in Paderborn for control engineering and mechatronics, where he dissertated at the project "Self-Optimizing Guidance Control for a Novel Rail-bound Vehicle". From 2010 to 2019 he was Senior Expert for Control Engineering at Senvion in Rendsburg and developed a dynamic control for wind turbines with focus on grid support ends. 2019 he became the Control Engineer at DEIF Wind Power in Rendsburg.

The lecture series/Über die Ringvorlesung:
The Wind Energy Technology Institute is organizing a series of lecture in the summer semster 2021. We welcome anyone interested in the wind industry to join us. We have invited lecturers from the various branches of the wind industry to speak about exciting topics. There will also be the opportunity for a short discussion after each of the talks.
