About TBZ & the Plant 

TBZ Flensburg is the city’s central service provider, ensuring Flensburg stays clean, green and well-maintained. Spread over 7.5 hectares, the wastewater treatment plant processes up to 60 000 m³ of wastewater from more than 220 000 residents each day. Over 60 % of the plant’s electricity is generated from renewable sources. This guided tour will be conducted in English and offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of Flensburg’s most vital facilities.

  • By Bus: Lines 3 or 7 → Stop “Kielseng” (short walk)
  • By Bike: approx. 10 min from city centre along the harbour
  • On Foot: approx. 20 min from city centre
  • By Car: Parking available near the entrance
