Maybe you have completed vocational training in the energy sector (not a must)
-
You’re not scared of maths
What it’s about
The turnaround in energy policy is a major project covering a broad range of aspects: technological, economical and societal. It will only work if all of them are considered. This degree programme will equip you with all the tools and the knowledge you will need to face these challenges. You will study across disciplines and even across campus – both at FUAS and the Europa-Universität Flensburg. For a green and sustainable future!
Course structure & majors
The focus of the first two semesters of your studies will be to acquire a solid foundation in a number of fields: the STEM disciplines, economics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and energy economics. This will give you a great overview of the relevant areas.
In the third and fourth semester of your studies, you will select modules from one of three majors:
- Industrial engineering for the energy transition
- Renewable Energy Engineering
- Electrical Energy Engineering
Then, in the fifth and sixth semester, you choose from a broad range of elective modules to specialise according to your individual strengths and interests. The topics include solar thermal energy, high voltage engineering and circular economy.
In the seventh semester of the programme you complete an internship and write your bachelor’s thesis.
Future prospects
You want to continue your studies?
If you want to go straight on from bachelor’s to master’s, you can do so at the EUF and enrol for the master’s degree programme Sustainable Energy. (This programme is also partly taught at FUAS, so we’ll definitely stay in touch.) You can also specialise a little further, focus entirely on the wind energy sector and study Wind Energy Engineering with us.
If you completed the “Vocational Education” modules as electives, you can study to become a teacher at vocational schools and make it your job to train future professionals. If you enrol in the master’s degree programme “Vocational Education” at Europa-Universität Flensburg, you can shorten your studies by half a semester.
