What it’s about
You don’t have to be a gamer for this career: the gaming industry is the fastest growing and most innovative part of the entertainment industry worldwide and has long since overtaken other areas such as film and music. In this degree programme we will teach you both the computer science and design basics you need to develop your own interactive media, virtual reality apps and games.
Course structure & majors
In the first two semesters of your studies, you will take modules together with our students from the Media Informatics and Applied Informatics bachelor’s to acquire the foundation for your skills. Your timetable will include programming, game design, computer graphics and digital image editing. In your third and fourth semester, you will also take more specialised modules such as character and asset design and virtual and augmented reality. From the fifth semester onwards, projects will become more and more important.
Throughout your studies, you will have the chance to work closely with your lecturers and to delve deeper into certain topics in a separate reflection module. This way, you will get the most out of your studies. In the seventh semester of the programme you complete an internship with a partner from industry and write your bachelor’s thesis.
