On our way to becoming the region's innovation engine and a beacon: The "TeStUp" project strengthens FUAS’ strategy of supporting structures that promote the founding of start-ups. All four faculties are actively involved in the project and form an interdisciplinary team from all necessary fields of expertise. The projects expands existing structures – the start-up community VentureWærft, the Jackstädt Centre and the EXISTstart-up network – in an ideal manner. The focus is on technological and technology-based academic start-ups with high growth potential

Detailed description
Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) is a key actor in our region’s start-up ecosystem Flensburg/Southern Denmark. While the number of start-ups founded at FUAS is very high (around 20 start-ups per year), there is untapped potential for start-ups focused on technological products, e.g. of a mechatronic nature. On the way to becoming a "start-up university" based on a lively and deeply rooted start-up culture, the overall aim of the TeStUp project is to create and utilise the necessary framework conditions for start-ups in the field of technological products.
In future, a broad spectrum of start-up ideas should be generated, recorded, systematically and quickly evaluated for success and implemented. For the realisation of start-up ideas based on technological products in particular, we want to establish new laboratories and equip existing laboratories with additional funds and resources. In addition, we want to connect the laboratories themselves as well as the labs and the current start-up support programme Dock1 in order to be able to implement start-up ideas in an interdisciplinary manner.

In addition to setting up a connected and agile laboratory landscape for start-up activities, we aim to design and implement a transparent and target group-specific marketing and to deeply anchor what the project ahs to offer in start-up activities as well as in teaching.
