Entrepreneurship

Flensburg University of Applied Sciences offers students, researchers and employees numerous entrepreneurship programmes that prepare and support the implementation of a start-up idea, regardless of the subject focus.

The start-up landscape established at FUAS covers every phase of founding a company. Since the establishment of the Jackstädt Centre Flensburg (JZF) on the campus in Flensburg in 2011, the Europa-Universität Flensburg and FUAS have been offering start-up support from a single source.

Various projects and institutions can be used to develop ideas and business models, as well as to talk and learn about funding and financing. There are also corresponding offers for the development of prototypes or an MVP. There are separate projects and partners for questions on market entry and founding and for the growth and optimisation of a company.

In recent years, a number of more specialised focusses related to entrepreneurship have developed in the JZF. So, in addition to general start-up support as part of Academic Entrepreneurship in the Dock1 Incubator, the areas of Women's Entrepreneurship at the EUF and Green Entrepreneurship at FUAS have been established. In addition, the @venturedock project, amongst others, has carried the topic and its relevance into schools, which means that entrepreneurship education has gained a special status in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to pure start-up support, the cross-border start-up ecosystem VentureWærft is being expanded continuously together network partners from our region. However, it is not just pure start-up activities that are promoted here; awareness is raised in the early stages, the development of an entrepreneurial mindset is encouraged and skills for entrepreneurial thinking and acting are taught. The change in self-assessment of these skills and the ability to start a business are examined in particular.

A detailed overview of the possibilities and what we offer in the context of interlinked research projects in the field of entrepreneurship can be found on this overview of the start-up landscape.
