Project description
There are a number of challenges the German-Danish border region, with its many small and medium enterprises, faces when it comes to the use of digital technologies, automation and sustainability. Some of these companies do not work very technology-driven currently and it can be difficult and expensive for them to implement changes to become more sustainable and digital. To support these companies, a project has been launched that aims to promote innovation and digitalisation, boost economic growth and increase the region's competitiveness.
The ARTEMIS project promotes collaboration between universities and companies, with students helping to develop innovative ideas for businesses. ARTEMIS will identify the needs of 30 companies and work with them on initiatives that will improve their innovation capabilities and help them become more sustainable. Both sides of the border will be involved and a permanent cross-border network will be established to support innovation and improve intercultural relations. The focus of this project is on the practical transfer of knowledge from universities to companies. Groups of students from different disciplines work together to develop solutions to specific challenges faced by these companies. The project creates new opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange across borders, thus helping to increase our region's competitiveness.
Objectives
- General written concept for the project’s initiatives (consisting of companies from the region and student teams to realise innovation potential that has not been identified so far)
- Two to four pilot initiatives (cooperation between the companies and students) including a picture, a profile and podcasts/videos/blog posts
- 30 project initiatives with specific ideas for solutions for the participating SME that are a learning experience for the students at the same time (cooperation between the companies and students) including a picture and a profile
