The CIVU deals with topics that are becoming increasingly relevant in our everyday lives: The interaction between humans and computers, the visualization of data and contexts, virtual reality and usability.
Digitalisation has become an integral part of our society and our everyday lives. It plays just as big a role in industry and work as it does in leisure, living and communicating. The CIVU covers the impact this topic has in all its facets by pooling expertise from different areas: Experts from applied computer science work closely with experts in communication and those in media informatics.
Our experts cooperate in research projects as well as in teaching and in projects with partners from industry. This way, we develop and design innovations in line with market and user requirements. We test the usability of both analogue and digital products and use virtual reality for medical purposes, for example.
