What it’s about
This degree programme will equip you with what you need to be successful in the industry and give you plenty of space to be creative and explore the artistic aspects of film. We’ll cover a broad range of formats: Fiction and documentaries, animated films, ads and image videos will be a part of your studies as well as more free and experimental approaches. Your curriculum will include classes on how to make film and the technical basics as well as classes on film theory and arts. And of course there will be plenty of opportunities to apply all this and turn it into film projects.
Course structure & majors
In this bachelor’s degree our motto is: Try out the different ways of creating moving pictures! This hands-on degree programme teaches you the fundamental methods, concepts and techniques to create films. And you’ll apply what you learn immediately.
These building blocks make up the programme:
- Technical basics of film-making:
- Making films: Animation, stop motion, movies, documentaries and ads.
- Aesthetics, history and dramaturgy of (audio) visual story-telling.
- Producing and “selling” your film.
From the second semester of your studies onwards, you will realise a film project together with other students each semester. Lecturers and teaching staff will supervise and guide you from the first idea to the final film. This means that at the end of your studies you will have a broad portfolio of films to present yourself and your skills with.
You will spend the sixth semester of your studies working on your final film. In the seventh semester of the programme you complete a three-month internship and write your bachelor’s thesis.
