What it’s about
The world is facing major challenges such as climate change and the pollution of our environment. By studying Green Engineering, you can actively contribute to environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions and make a positive impact on our future. You will combine environmental engineering and process engineering and develop innovative technologies to use resources efficiently, reduce waste and promote renewable energies. The Green Engineering programme is the perfect choice for technology enthusiasts with environmental awareness. Here you can combine creativity and problem-solving to bring about real change. At the same time you create excellent career prospects in a future-oriented industry.
Course structure & majors
In the first two semesters of your studies you will get a firm knowledge on the basics of natural sciences, mathematics and computer science. Classes are held here together with the students from our biotechnology and food technology programme, so that you broaden your perspective right from the start. In the third semester of your studies it’s all about technology - that’s when you will learn the basics of engineering.
From the fourth to sixth semester your curriculum includes various focus subjects that will give you more in-depth knowledge on the following topics:
- the environmentally friendly conversion of raw materials into (final) products
- the analysis of the environmental impact processes and products have
- the development of sustainable production processes
- the storage of renewable energy
- the relation between man-made emissions and their environmental impact
- the potential a circular economy holds to reduce the consumption of raw materials, energy and water
- the switch from fossil to renewable raw materials
In the seventh semester of the programme you complete an internship with a partner from insutry and write your bachelor’s thesis.
