Menke Planetarium and Observatory

Schulkasse im Planetarium, im oberen Bildbereich ist die Projektion zu erkennen.

Flensburg University of Applied Sciences has been operating the observatory and planetarium in our neighbouring town of Glücksburg since 1995. The planetarium is just a stone’s throw away from the waterline and the stars don’t seem much farther – partly due to the ultra-modern full dome projectors.

The planetarium is equipped with a modern, digital projection system that can display the starry sky over a period of +- 1 million years and even allows virtual journeys through the universe. The system also allows for pre-made fulldome shows (films) to be shown. They are displayed on the dome without distortion.

For further information and an overview of shows and events, please check out the Menke Planetarium website.
