Project description
CESAR, Community Engagement in Higher Education in the Southern Africa Region, is a joint project of the Jackstädt Centre and the Centre for Business and Technology in Africa (CBTA) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town, South Africa, and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Windhoek, Namibia. HSFL, NUST and CPUT are working together to develop strategies and initiatives that improve community engagement, address social needs and promote sustainable development. Within this framework, social entrepreneurial initiatives that offer sustainable solutions are being promoted.
The focus is on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 7 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). The project also supports the partnership goals of SDG 17 and strengthens cooperation in the areas of teaching, research and management in order to achieve the SDGs in the long term.
