Project description

The North German Living Lab (NDRL) is an innovative joint project that aims to test new ways of achieving climate neutrality. To this end, areas of production and life with particularly high energy consumption are being gradually decarbonised. Eight electrolysers with a hydrogen generation capacity of 42 MW are operated in the NDRL. They are used in particular to replace fossil fuels in industrial processes with hydrogen or its derivatives. In addition, three projects are being implemented in the NRL that enable the use of waste heat to the tune of 700 GWh per year. In the mobility sector, several hydrogen filling stations and more than 200 vehicles are being tested in various usage scenarios.

The North German Living Lab is backed by 50 partners from industry, research and politics.
