Diversity and Inclusion Officer

When we say diversity, we mean the variety of people who study and work together at our university, who interact with each other, exchange ideas, influence each other and learn from and develop with each other.

As the people who work at FUAS, we are different, for example, in terms of age, gender and sexual orientation, abilities, social or cultural background or in terms of our biographies and backgrounds of experience as well as our religion and view of the world. 

What we have in common is that we want to be successful in our studies and in our professional careers at FUAS. Diversity enriches us and, at the same time, it can be a challenge that we want to tackle constructively. At FUAS we value diversity as a potential and we strive to promote its development.

We have to establish freedom from discrimination, equal opportunities and respectful treatment again and again in our day-to-day activities. In accordance with §27 of the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Education Act the diversity officers are involved in the planning and organisation of teaching, study and work conditions for members and staff of the universities, advise them and work to eliminate existing disadvantages.
