Project description

Our long-term partner in Windhoek, the Polytechnic of Namibia, has recently turned into the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). In order to support this transformation we have established a project called DIES partnership with NUST. It is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This project shall support the transformation process in six distinct focus areas:

  1. Internal structure – schools, centres and institutes
  2. Human resources
  3. Quality assurance
  4. Research capacity
  5. Industry cooperation and research
  6. Integration of technologies in teaching, learning and assessment (TLA)

The project has an interdisciplinary approach to develop and implement an action plan based on SWOT analyses in every focus area. The process will include discussions on case studies and field visits to Germany and Namibia for senior management of both universities to learn from the practices at hand from each other.
