Prof. Dr. Hinrich Uellendahl from Flensburg University of Applied Sciences offers an accessible overview of the causes behind the increasing concentration of CO₂ in the atmosphere – and presents strategies and technologies aimed at slowing down this development. In his talk, he explains the scientific foundations of how CO₂ affects the climate and highlights existing engineering solutions to tackle the problem. You’ll gain insights into how key terms such as carbon cycle, carbon sources and sinks, fossil resources, steel and concrete production, renewable energies, hydrogen, e-fuels, synthetic fuels, power-to-X, biofuels, and carbon capture are all connected to the challenges of climate change – and how they offer opportunities for action.
