Early Course Selection

The Equal Opportunities and Diversity and Inclusion Offices work closely with FUAS’ faculties and teaching staff to support students with caretaking responsibilities in organising their studies. Early course selection gives you the chance to sign up for classes that take place when your children or relatives are being looked after by others.

1. File an application:

Submit your application for the recognition of particular needs in regards to early course selection with the Equal Opportunities Office in due time.

2. Form:

You can find the necessary form at the bottom of this page.

3. Submit the documents necessary:

  • Parents/step-parents/foster parents: Provide a copy of the child's birth certificate.

Step-parents and persons living with the child to be cared for submit their own proof of residence and that of the child, also include proof of the share of childcare you take on.

  • Persons with disabilities or chronic diseases: Submit the necessary proof such as a disabled person's pass together with an explanation or a current medical certificate from a specialist.

  • Maternity protection periods: If the calculated date of birth is in the period in which courses can be elected or in the first four weeks of the teaching period, please submit your maternity pass (copy of the page with the calculated d.o.b.).

  • Caretaking relatives: Submit the care allowance notification [Pflegegeldbescheid] or a proof of the overall and your individual share of the caretaking within the family.

4. Review of applications:

All applications will be reviewed by the Equal Opportunities and the Diversity and Inclusion Offices.

You will then receive a written confirmation with which you will then have to contact the members of teaching staff in question yourself.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch with FUAS’ Equal Opportunities and the Diversity and Inclusion Offices.
